D-GATE JAPAN PARTS RESEARCH

When you need to identify or confirm a Japanese vehicle part, we research it using sources in Japan.

In Japanese vehicle repair and restoration work, catalogs and ordinary searches are not always enough to identify the correct part.

D-GATE investigates the question using Japanese sources and organizes the findings so you can decide what to do next.

Send a parts question

Examples of parts questions we can research

More than one part number may apply.

An old part number has been superseded, but the replacement is unclear.

The part changes depending on model year, grade, specification or production period.

A serial number, lot number or production period matters.

A used Japanese listing may contain the required part, but the listing does not provide enough information.

A Japanese seller, dealer or specialist needs to be asked a specific question.

A discontinued or uncommon part needs to be searched for in Japan.

Send what you already know.

Useful information may include:

vehicle model,

model code,

model year,

grade,

engine,

drivetrain,

VIN or chassis information where relevant,

existing part numbers,

photos,

labels,

measurements,

seller listings,

URLs,

and what your team has already checked.

Not every case requires every item.

We first review whether the available information is enough to begin.

What we check

Depending on the case, the research may include:

part-number identification,

old and superseded part numbers,

model-year changes,

grade differences,

production-period differences,

specification differences,

position or side differences,

Japanese catalog information,

manufacturer or dealer information,

specialist sources,

Japanese seller information,

and used-item listings.

Where agreed and necessary, we may also contact a Japanese seller, dealer or specialist with a specific question.

The research report explains what was found and what remains uncertain.

Depending on the case, the report may include:

confirmed information,

possible part-number candidates,

supporting evidence,

differences between sources,

information that is still missing,

questions that should be confirmed before purchase,

and recommended next checks.

An inconclusive result can also be a valid research result.

If the available evidence is not enough, we say so.

PRICING GUIDE

Pricing depends on the difficulty of the research.

STANDARD

From US$125

For one defined question with substantially complete identifiers and a reasonably clear research route.

ADVANCED

From US$195

For cases involving multiple candidates, multiple sources, complex supersessions, specification conflicts or external technical inquiries.

SPECIAL

Fixed quote

For broad, rare, multi-part or unusually complex cases.

Paid research is normally 100% prepaid after the scope has been agreed.

Final price and included work are agreed before research begins.

You can purchase the part yourself or ask about proxy purchasing.

OPTION 1

Purchase it yourself

After reviewing the research result, you can purchase the part through:

the seller,

a parts supplier,

a marketplace,

or another proxy purchasing service.

OPTION 2

Ask D-GATE about proxy purchasing and international shipping

If the part is only available in Japan,

if the Japanese seller does not ship overseas,

or if you would prefer D-GATE to handle the next step,

proxy purchasing and international shipping can be discussed separately, subject to D-GATE confirming that the request can be handled.

Proxy purchasing and international shipping are separate from the research fee.

These services are not included in the standard parts-research price.

Before accepting a proxy-purchase request, D-GATE will check factors such as:

the item,

the seller,

the item value,

the destination country,

the type of product,

and the available shipping method.

If D-GATE can handle the request, a separate quote and the applicable terms will be provided before the purchase is made.
